2006-04-17 Futamigaura, Tokyo

I came to Futamigaura to see the 'wedded rocks' or Meoto Iwa because I saw a nice picture of them in my travel book. I am not really sure if it was worth all that train time. But at least the weather was sunny. I was outside at 7:30 so the light was very nice. I keep on thinking that if it is nice I should get up earlier, but some how this never happens:) I went to see them rocks and walked along the beach for a while. Around 10 I was back at the station and in the train. I met this retired teacher at the stations and we talked until the train arrived in Nagoya. He even made sure I got on to the right shinkansen.

I had made plans to meet a friend from Discreet/Autodesk in Tokyo, otherwise I might have made a stop to see Mount Fuji. Although, from the train it looked like Fuji was surrounded by clouds so that might not have been that interesting anyways. I met up with David Boileau in Shibuya. He is studying Japanese and has been to Tokyo 4 times, it was nice to go around Tokyo with someone who knows his way around. We could not find the place he was looking for, too many small streets and too many restaurants. We did wind up in a pretty good place, and had some good food and cold sake.
